It seemed as if the marketing machine behind THE HOBBIT was far subtler than it had been during the three years LORD OF THE RINGS dominated absolutely every film publication in existence. But these last few days it feels as if anticipation Peter Jackson’s return to Middle-earth is beginning to gain some momentum (perhaps due to this San Diego Comic-Con exclusive poster).
THE HOBBIT sees Ian McKellen return as Gandalf, who assists Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) in his journey with a band of dwarves to reclaim some stolen treasure from the dragon Smaug.
Check out this brand new banner from EW, which fuses 10 scenes from the movie. The small version above can’t do the banner (far too big for our tiddly pages) so check it below, as we’ve helpfully chopped it up into Hobbit-sized pieces.
