With MOONRISE KINGDOM barely out of theatres (review here), king of the prententious quirk-fest Wes Anderson is already assembling another stunning ensemble cast. It seems these days that actors are flocking to Anderson, perhaps hoping his indie credentials will rub off. This time around cast members are set to include Johnny Depp, Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Jude Law, Jeff Goldblum, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe and Angela Lansbury.
The major name here is Johnny Depp, who is new to Anderson’s usual entourage. This could be good news for the actor, who could do with a decent film as it’s been a while since he’s done anything of value.
So far there are no details on the upcoming project’s story. We’re guessing something a bit kooky and angsty, but that’s pure speculation.
