During THE EXPENDABLES 2 panel at Comic-Con, Big Arn confirmed that a sequel to TWINS is in the works with original director Ivan Reitman taking the helm once again. Schwarzenegger added that they were currently seeking a screenwriter for the project. A couple of months ago we reported that the sequel was to be entitled TRIPLETS, and would centre around Julius (Arn) and Vincent (Danny DeVito) discovering the genetic experiment that bore them also created a third brother (played by Eddie Murphy).
Without a current screenwriter, we can’t be sure if the film will end up following this plot, but this THN writer is game for a TWINS sequel and the Lord knows Eddie Murphy could do with a decent comeback. With both THE TOMB and Ji-Woon Kim’s LAST STAND being solid action roles for Schwarzenegger, TRIPLETS is the first comedy film he has announced since his return to acting. Here’s to hoping those shorts and jacket make a welcome return. Yakety Yak.
