Juicy New Poster For ‘The Oranges’

Want to see Hugh Laurie hitting on Leighton Meester? Then this is the film for you! Although not much has been announced about THE ORANGES, we give you the brand new promotional poster, which symbolizes that things are going to get…juicy?

Meester plays Nina Ostroff, daughter of Terry (Oliver Platt) and Carol (Allison Janney). The Ostroffs live across the street from the Wallings, comprised of David (Hugh Laurie), Paige (Catherine Keener), Vanessa (Alia Shawkat) and Toby (Adam Brody). After Nina breaks off her engagement to fiance Ethan (Sam Rosen), both families try to pair her up with Toby over the Thanksgiving holiday. However, things don’t go to plan when David confesses to having feelings for Nina…and she feels the same way! That will be one very awkward turkey carving.

The film, directed by Julian Farino (director behind several episodes of ENTOURAGE and BIG LOVE), had its premiere at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. Personally, I’m not a fan of Meester but I love the other 95% of the cast. With Laurie as the weird, pervert-like dad, this could be rather entertaining. Keep an eye on the website for the trailer, which is bound to be released soon.

THE ORANGES is due for a limited US release from 5th October. It is currently awaiting a UK release date.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
