Rumours have been strutting around the internet claiming that Dwayne Johnson would be playing LOBO. He’s now confirmed that he may play the part via his Twitter account:

I’d take a deep breath before getting too excited, as LOBO has been rumoured to be in development since the early 1990s, after the success of Burton’s BATMAN (1989). Most recently Guy Ritchie was attached to direct, but after the success of SHERLOCK HOLMES (2009) he decided to jump straight into a sequel. Brad Peyton is set to direct now, which reunites him with Johnson after JOURNEY 2 THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND.
This will be a dramatic change of pace for the pair. He is more of an anti-hero, being a bounty hunter that rides across the galaxy on his intergalactic motorbike.
I just can’t get excited over any DC film adaptation that isn’t Batman, no matter how much I love the comics. After they screwed up GREEN LANTERN (2011) and JONAH HEX (2010) Warner Bros. just don’t deserve the trust that Marvel have gained.
