Edgar Wright And J.J. Abrams Collaborate For Collider

Director extraordinaire, Edgar Wright, and blockbuster aficionado J.J. Abrams are teaming up for new project, COLLIDER. My inner ‘fan-girl’ is squealing. The sci-fi drama (rumoured to be about a kick-ass bunch of world-saving web journalists, although that is yet to be confirmed) will be produced by Abrams and SCOTT PILGRIM producer, Nira Park. Wright is set to direct and pen the script, along with I AM LEGEND’s Mark Protosevich. This is already force to be reckoned with.

Wright’s a busy chap at the moment, with his up coming adaptation of Marvel’s ANT MAN and most delicious of all, the final instalment of the ‘Blood And Ice Cream’ trilogy THE WORLD’S END is now in pre-production. Inner fan-girl has now lost control. This is the latest collaboration between Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, which follows five childhood friends meeting twenty years after attempting a drinking marathon to end all drinking marathons for one more night down the pub. After zombie-thon SHAUN OF THE DEAD and cop romp HOT FUZZ, this might be a nice transition into the COLLIDER genre, as Wright has described THE WORLD’S END as ‘a sci-fi comedy’. Hurrah!

We’ll bring you more news on COLLIDER as it breaks. Hang on to your hats.
