Let’s be honest here, Christian Bale has always seemed pretty douchey. How could we ever forget his infamous rant on the set of TERMINATOR SALVATION? Never not funny remix here.
Today, however, Bale has done himself proud by visiting the victims of the Aurora, Colorado shooting. The mass shooting took place during a premiere of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and claimed 12 lives and wounded 58.
Bale had previously reached out the victims with a statement to express his sympathy: ‘Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.’
The actor spent hours at Aurora Medical Centre, spending time with victims and staff. Bale also visited the site of a memorial for those who had lost their lives. Warner Bros. have stated that Bale visited the victims ‘of his own accord’, without encouragement from the studio. Warner Bros. are reportedly planning to donate a ‘substantial’ sum to the families of those killed in the shooting.
