First up, a fifth series of the hit History Channel drama Vikings has been greenlighted. Secondly, Jonathan Rhys Meyers has joined the cast of the show, which will go into production this year for a 2017 air date.
The new season will consist of 20 new episodes.

The fourth season is currently airing in the U.S. on Thursday evenings. The show, which tells the remarkable tales of the lives and epic adventures of the raiders and explorers of the Dark Ages, has a huge following around the world and has gained massive audiences since its conception in 2013.
