‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Dominates The US Box Office

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES – Christopher Nolan’s spectacular conclusion to THE DARK KNIGHT FRANCHISE – retained its number one spot in the US Box Office this weekend with takings of $64 million, down 60% on its opening weekend. ICE AGE 4: CONTINENTAL DRIFT with $13.3 million sits second ahead of new entries THE WATCH ($13m) and STEP UP: REVOLUTION ($11.8m). TED continues to perform well at five above THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and BRAVE at six and seven respectively. MAGIC MIKE, Oliver Stone’s SAVAGES and MOONRISE KINGDOM complete an uninspiring top 10.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES now has $228 million in the US and over $470 million in total worldwide; impressive figures but will it match THE DARK KNIGHTS total haul? Let us know your thoughts.

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
