‘The Wolverine’ Brings Japan To Australia In Set Footage

Residents in the small Australian town of Kurnell may have been a bit surprised to find a Japanese POW camp on one of their beaches. But that’s exactly what they found as THE WOLVERINE has begun shooting there. The following news report gives us a glimpse of the set, and also talks to some of the locals. My favourite moment is hearing about the ‘modest’ notice informing the residents of the filming, put up in the local chip shop.

THE WOLVERINE is released 26th July 2013. It stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Brian Tee, and Svetlana Khodchenkova.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
