‘The Dark Knight Returns Part 1’ Trailer Arrives

In case you had forgotten, the Batman universe didn’t begin and end with Nolan’s interpretation. In fact it is still very much alive in the form of an animated film based on one of the most famous graphic novels of all time. THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS PART 1 will see an elderly Bruce Wayne return as Batman after 10 years. A gang known as The Mutants are rising up and it’s up to Batman and the new Robin (A GIRL?!?!?!?!) to take them down. Robocop himself, Peter Weller will be voicing The Batman, and they’re certainly keeping The Caped Crusader’s sense of humour “He’s young, he’ll walk again.”

DC have been doing some great work with their animated features. GREEN LANTERN: FIRST FLIGHT kicked the live action movie’s arse, and WONDER WOMAN couldn’t even get a live-action TV show off the ground. Splitting THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS into two parts will certainly be doing it justice, but I’m still waiting for the animated interpretations of Knightfall and The Long Halloween.

THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS is coming to DVD and Blu-ray in October. It stars the voices of Peter Weller, Ariel Winter, Wade Williams, and Michael McKean.
