New Stills From Red Dawn Remake

The long delayed remake of 80s action-thriller RED DAWN was shot over three years ago now. Much like the hugely enjoyable head-twisting horror THE CABIN IN THE WOODS (also starring a pre-THOR Chris Hemsworth), RED DAWN was caught in the legal wrangle of MGM’s financial woes. We’ll finally get to see the film later this year (hopefully), but until then we have a couple of new images from the film directed by former stuntman Dan Bradley and co-starring Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Josh Peck, Josh Hutcherson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The original RED DAWN saw a group of teens form a militia group when Ruskie invaders take over their town and the USA. Determined to stop them capturing their family and friends, they decide to fight back in any way possible. Co-written and directed by the great John Milius, it featured a hot young cast of up and coming stars like C. Thomas Howell, Charlie Sheen, Lea Thompson, Jennifer Grey and of course, the late THN hero Partick Swayze (raise a glass and god rest his soul).

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
