Bill And Ted Threequel Confirm Director

If you’re a Wyld Stallyns fan, this news will be sweet music to your ears, as a director has been confirmed for third outing of airhead geniuses BILL & TED. I loved the original and rather unique time-travel comedy that made a superstar of Keanu Reeves and a… erm, BEN 10 movie director of co-star Alex Winter. Sequel BILL AND TED’S BOGUS JOURNEY, I didn’t much care for.

What makes this news so special is that Dean Parisot will helm the as-yet-untitled follow-up that will see both Reeves and Winter return. Parisot was the director of excellent sci-fi-comedy GALAXY QUEST and was also announced as director of action-sequel RED 2. Most recently he’s helmed episodes of acclaimed series’ THE GOOD WIFE and JUSTIFIED.

It’s unknown when shooting will get underway with Reeves set for actioners 47 RONIN and MAN OF TAI CHI (which he also makes his directorial debut). Winter meanwhile has been attempting to find finance to direct a remake of 80s cult horror THE GATE. Sadly, comedian George Carlin who played Rufus, will be missing having passed away in 2008.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
