As predicted centuries ago, the geek has indeed inherited the Earth. How fortunate then, that Arcane Projects is doing its bit for geek-kind, producing limited edition movie inspired T-shirts, vests, caps and hoodies from some of the most memorable films from cinema history. At least us geeks will have something awesome to wear as we claim what is rightfully ours.
Arcane Projects was first established in 2009 by Paul Atkins, whose great love for cinema (especially horror) led him to create the movie T-shirts he wanted to wear. Arcane, meaning ‘known or understood by only a few’, perfectly sums up he tees – obscure to those on the outside, but loaded with meaning and brilliance for those who ‘get it’. Just how us geeks like it.
Arcane Projects’ website www.arcanemovietees.com now boasts over 100 designs, all of which are limited to 150 prints and available in a variety of colours. Free worldwide shipping options are also available.
‘Ideas for designs come from various routes,’ Arcane Projects tell THN. ‘Normally it starts with a corporation or company featured within a movie, or a location that is very specific that can be tied to a character, or sometimes an iconic image from a movie that we can portray in a unique way.’
The Arcane team, which now also includes Mart Spencer and Paul ‘Pablo’ Harwood, list amongst their favourite films THE GODFATHER, THE SHINING, RESERVOIR DOGS, STAND BY ME, ROBOCOP, ALIEN, and JAWS (a quick browse though the catalogue reveals as much).
Visit Arcane Projects online and check out their awesome movie tees!
For a limited time only, The Hollywood News can offer its readers a one-time promotional voucher code. Simply visit www.arcanemovietees.com and use the code THN20 to get 20% OFF ALL PURCHASES!
