The latest Joseph Gordon-Levitt starrer, LOOPER, has launched a viral site. In Rian Johnson’s upcoming film LOOPER, time travel is used illegally to send mob hits back into the past, where LOOPERs (assassins in the past) execute them. This is all very well and good but LOOPERs live in fear that one day they might find themselves sent to the past and have to kill their future self. This is what happens to Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character, and of course he refuses to kill his future self (Bruce Willis).
The recently launched site allows you to sign up as a LOOPER yourself, and missions should be underway later this month. After signing up you will receive a message from the character Abe, portrayed in the film by Jeff Daniels.

I’m loving the idea that the LOOPERs are fully aware that one day they will be the ones killing themselves. It asks the question ‘Would you accept riches and success now and sacrifice your future?’ I hope this is a theme that is explored in the final film.
