Here is the first look at Justin Timberlake and Clint Eastwood, who star together in THE THROUBLE WITH THE CURVE, a new film which is part body-horror, part buddy-comedy.
(Not really, of course, this is a spoof article. For the truth about the movie, scroll down to the trailer at the bottom. But for now, enjoy this Ridiculous Rewrite).
Eastwood plays Gus, a man with a strange problem. Since he was a child, he had a peculiar growth on his hand, about which he was mercilessly teased. As the years pass, the bizarre tumour -like abscess starts to grow and grow and grow… a mouth. This is harrowing to begin with, until it starts singing pop ballads, which Gus enjoys. Over the years it grows arms, legs, a nifty haircut, a well defined torso and an absolutely champion knob. Eventually, it becomes a handsome young man with a name that can never be pronounced or spelt. They become the best of friends, still attached at the wrist, joined together by one grotesquely curved arm, which they call ‘The Curve.’ And they have trouble with it. Trouble with the curve.
This wacky pair of scamps get into all kinds of scrapes, involving romantic awkwardness, slapstick bowling mishaps and an HILARIOUS sequence where Gus is riding a motorbike and ‘The Unknowable Horror,’ (Timberlake) has to run alongside him, running into bins and shit.
Every night they cry themselves to sleep due to the insurmountable, ever worsening Hell in which they live everyday.
Think if David Cronenberg directed DUMB AND DUMBER and you will be imagining this chuckle filled nightmare.
That is all a lie. THE TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE is a sweet looking drama about an estranged family and a love of baseball. Here is the trailer. And not a grotesque arm mutation in sight.
