NANCY AND DANNY might be Carey Mulligan’s next movie after the Coen brothers’ INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS and the much anticipated Baz Luhrmann-directed GREAT GATSBY.
NANCY AND DANNY is about a small town woman who has given up on making it herself and decides to manipulate an old crush into getting back with her. The story has been described as having a lot in common with 1995 flick TO DIE FOR which had a pivotal part in Nicole Kidman’s acting career.
Mulligan is said to have sought out the role herself, and could be an important role for the actress. Indian Paintbrush is the studio behind NANCY AND DANNY, which has previously brought us MOONRISE KINGDOM and SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD. I have mixed feelings about Mulligan, I recognize that she’s a good actress but I simply can’t wrap my head around all the lead roles that are thrown her way.
