Marty McFly To Appear On TV?!

Yes! No! Well, not quite. Reports have come in that Michael J Fox, star of the 1980s trilogy hit BACK TO THE FUTURE, is to return to acting…with his very own television sitcom!

Yes, NBC have secured a deal, meaning Fox is set to star in a brand new 22 episode comedy series, which is to be loosely based on his life. Tied into the deal are the series’ director Will Gluck (EASY A, FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS) and writer Sam Laybourne (COUGAR TOWN, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT). NBC nudged out rivals ABC, who were the predicted winners of the buy-up battle. The win bodes well for the network, as they came third at the end of the US television series season. Rumours have also surfaced that NBC put in a bid for the show, which hasn’t even produced a pilot episode (yet!).

With Gluck on board, who pretty much launched the career of Emma Stone in EASY A, we are guaranteed a laugh-fest. I’m a huge fan of Fox, especially after his role in SCRUBS, which proved he is able to carry a sitcom character. The faster this goes into production, the better!

The sitcom is expected to be ready by autumn 2013.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
