The mind of a psychopath has made for many thrilling but ultimately, disturbing tales but they become even more harrowing when created from a fact-based case. Having Mr. Inconsistent Nicolas Cage cast alongside against-type John Cusack, could prove a masterstroke if he’s on top form. Cage is Alaskan detective Glenn Flothe on the hunt for Cusack’s killer Robert Hansen, with the help of Vanessa Hudgens’ Cindy Paulsen, the latter being a lucky soul who recently escaped his murderous clutches.
For those who don’t know, Hansen was infamous for flying his victims to the Alaskan wilderness, setting them free, but to stalk and shoot them like wild animals. Making his Hollywood debut as a writer and director is Kiwi Scott Walker and in this first trailer, Cusack is a dead-ringer for the emotionless murderer behind those horn-rimmed spectacles. This could be a real nail-biter with a terrific supporting cast of Dean Norris, Radha Mitchell, Kevin Dunn and Kurt Fuller. It’s slightly let down by the inclusion of 50 bloody Cent but you never know, right?
