Dicaprio, Maguire & Hardy To Produce Animal Trafficking Drama

A trio of hot young actors, Leonardo Dicaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Tom Hardy are gearing up to produce a film about the war on animal poaching in the vein of Steven Soderbergh’s TRAFFIC (2000). The idea came from Tom Hardy himself, after being told stories by friends of his that served in the armed forces and now work as anti-poaching fighters in South Africa. TRAFFIC looked at the world of drugs on all levels; from the producers, suppliers, users, and politicians fighting against them. This animal trafficking drama is said to follow a similar formula, looking at the fight against poachers, the illegal animal trade, and fur ending up in big name designer fashion houses.

This drama is being given the go-ahead by Warner Bros. whom both Maguire and Dicaprio are starring for in the upcoming THE GREAT GATSBY. The production is currently looking for a screenwriter. Hardy recently setup a production at Warner Bros. involving bikers, so with strong relationships with these three stars it looks as though this is almost a guaranteed greenlight.
