Finally someone has realised that an Elvis Presley biopic is long overdue, as BiteSize Entertainment is bringing it to screens soon. Elvis Presley was a great entertainer who not only sang his way into the hearts and minds of the public, but also managed to act in 33 movies during his lifetime.
GROWING UP GRACELAND will focus on be time right before The King’s death, and will be told through his younger stepbrother David E Stanley. Stanley later wrote a book about his relationship with Presley called ‘Conversations with The King – Journals of a young apprentice’. The film is based on the book, and tells the intimate story of Stanley who went from baby brother to right hand man and mentor.
The take and perspective of the film is incredibly interesting and I can’t wait to hear more when production starts. However, a man who lived such an interesting life, and had an interesting breakthrough in the industry should have his whole story told on film not just the end of it.
