We have to wait until the release of THE HOBBIT until we see a trailer for Guillermo Del Toro’s next feature, PACIFIC RIM. Luckily, thanks to some kind soul scanning the latest pages of Empire magazine, we can take a look at some behind the scenes photos. The film will see the human race piloting giant robots in order to fight against huge monsters known as ‘Kaiju’. I’m a lover of the Japanese Kaiju genre itself, so this has me awfully excited. The following scans simply show our human folks, and as much as I want to see the monsters, I hope they’ll remain mostly a secret until the release next year.
PACIFIC RIM is released 12th July 2013. It stars Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi and Charlie Day.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
