New Trailer For ‘The Sapphires’ Starring Chris O’Dowd

THE SAPPHIRES is an inspirational tale set in 1968 about an Australian aboriginal all-girl group that win a chance to sing and perform to US troops in Vietnam. It has been playing to very favourable reviews at a number of film festivals, and now we have a new trailer to show. It stars Chris O’Dowd as the group’s manager, and seems to be pretty damn funny. It certainly seems to hit inspirational, comedic, and potentially heartbreaking moments without coming off as sappy. Based on a stage play by Tony Briggs, this seems like it could be a sleeper hit.

THE SAPPHIRES is released 2nd November 2012. It stars Chris O’Dowd, Deborah Mailman, Jessica Mauboy, Shari Sebbens, Miranda Tapsell, Tory Kittles, and Eka Darville.
