R.I.P Michael Clarke Duncan – Oscar Nominated Actor Passes Away Aged 54

Academy Award nominated actor Michael Clarke Duncan has passed away at the age of 54. He suffered a heart attack in July from which he never truly recovered. A representative for Michael Clarke Duncan issued the following statement:

Michael Clarke Duncan passed away this morning in Los Angeles, said his fiancée, Reverend Omarosa Manigault. The Oscar-nominated actor suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered.  Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time. Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date.

Michael Clarke Duncan was mostly known for his size which he used to great effect in a number of roles, most notably the part of John Coffey in THE GREEN MILE (1999), which won him critical and commercial success. His size and screen presence was only matched by his distinctive, commanding voice which he lent to a number of vocal performances in animated films, TV shows, and video games. On top of his domineering roles, he also had a natural gift for comedy, in roles such as THE SLAMMIN’ SALMON and TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY. With an infectious laugh and general warmth, he was a surprisingly versatile actor that has gone much too soon.

R.I.P Michael Clarke Duncan. I chose a picture of how I think he should be best remembered; Wearing a crown, riding a horse, and smiling.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
