Brutal ass-kicking beauty Gina Carano’s acting career has certainly taken off since she headlined Steve Soderbergh’s all-star action-thriller HAYWIRE in January. Whilst we’ve yet to see her in any recent role, she has been busy in front of the camera and will feature strongly in the currently-shooting sixth effort in the FAST & FURIOUS franchise as well as a number of other projects. One of those will be IN THE BLOOD, another action-thriller which will see Carano’s ruthless skills on show when her husband is kidnapped and murdered in the Caribbean.
We’ve news that both MACHETE himself Danny Trejo and AVATAR’s Stephen Lang have signed on for the film, set to be directed by John Stockwell. As is usual with not-so pretty boy Trejo, it’s expected he’ll play a merciless goon, named ‘Big Biz’. Lang however, will play Carano’s father and the person that trained her with such ferocity. Expect IN THE BLOOD, late next year.
She’s a big favourite in the offices of THN, so we’re eager to see the MMA athlete-turned-actor in pretty much anything and this TAKEN-like plot sounds right up our street!
