After teasing us last month with a 30 second trailer, HBO have now released a full trailer for THE GIRL. The Alfred Hitchcock drama focuses on the relationship between the master of suspense and actress Tippi Hedren, with whom he became infatuated during her filming of THE BIRDS and MARNIE. Hitchcock famously used real birds to attack Hedren during filming, despite assuring her he would use mechanical models. Hedren recently attended a screening of the television movie and described it as a truthful account of a ‘horrible and frightening experience’.
THE GIRL stars the fantastic Toby Jones (TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER SPY) and Sienna Miller (THE EDGE OF LOVE). The pair are joined by Imelda Staunton, Penelope Wilton, Candice D’Arcy, Sean Cameron Michael and Kate Tilley. Directed by Julian Jarrold (RED RIDING), THE GIRL will premiere on HBO this October and is expected to air on BBC Two later this year.
