Latest Poster For ‘The Impossible’ Shows The Calm Before & After The Storm

Early word on this devastating disaster drama, THE IMPOSSIBLE, has been nothing short of astonishing. The film is based on the horrific events of the Boxing Day tsunami that struck off the coast of the Indian Ocean in 2004 and stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor as a holidaying couple with two young children caught up in the devastation and fighting for their survival.

Directed by J.A. Bayona, who helmed to outstanding ghostly thriller THE ORPHANAGE, THE IMPOSSIBLE is said to feature some epic special-effects that bring the harrowing real-life events to the big-screen. The film is released during the heart of award season and we expect it to feature strongly. Check out the poster below and we’ve also got the most recent trailer for you, just below:

THE IMPOSSIBLE  opens on 4th January 2013.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
