I must confess, a recent addiction has been any viral campaign and although none have lived up to the sheer glory of THE DARK KNIGHT effort, little ones along the way have been the melatonin to my natural adrenaline. Currently in the veins are ones for HOMELAND (#ItHitsHome) and LOOPER (#LooperNetwork) but today we’ve got a sneaky peek inside the Umbrella Corporation, which is accompanying the release of RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION. Sure, the film is probably going to be the somewhat similar to previous RESIDENT EVIL outings but if they can make that world a little bigger, I don’t see the harm.
The Umbrella Corporation is a fictional pharmaceutical company from the series and, very much, an antagonist in everything that happens. Today, we’ve received news that they’ve filed with the Global Exchange and Securities Commission for a proposed initial public offering of its common stock – ($500,000,000) shares at $25per share. Shares are expected to begin trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market on September 14, 2012 under the symbol “BLIFE.” and you can even download your own version of a stock certificate, should you invest. The altruistic mandate behind the IPO launch is to increase funding to allow for expansion of The Umbrella Corporation’s global infrastructure, with the goal of offering all shareholders a unique opportunity to be part of the corporation’s life changing developments. The IPO offering follows the phase one reorganization of company’s core communications including an extensive world recruitment tour in April, 2012 of its state-of-the-art Mobile Recruitment Center, which resulted in thousands of new recruits. This was followed by a phase two initiative, a global public relations outreach through its Facebook page in June 2012 resulting in an additional 300,000 new recruits. Phase three will see the launch of its revamped Umbrella Corporate website which will focus on the company’s corporate initiatives.
