‘Ant-Man’ Test Footage May Be Coming Your Way Soon

At this year’s Comic-Con, test footage of upcoming Marvel super-hero flick ANT-MAN, directed by Edgar Wright was shown. It was reportedly an action sequence that made the most of ANT-MAN’s shrinking and growing powers. According to Marvel executive Victoria Alonso, we may well get to see that footage released in the near future:

What we showed at Comic-Con was a work in progress.  We’re working on finishing it, and I think you might see it.  Not sure where, but we always listen to the fans.  And if the fans demand it we make sure they get it.  I don’t know if we are going to post it online, but I don’t have [any reason] to believe we may not.

So get demanding fans. I think they pretty much need to release this footage to assure fans and non-fans that a film about a shrinking super-hero can look good and be believable.

Even though Edgar Wright has been attached to the project for a very long time, there is still no real confirmation that he will direct the project. Alonso continued:

Edgar is on board to do it.  He’s going to do one movie before… He wrote a great script and we’re hoping that he will come and work with us.

That quote sounds a bit contradictory to me. First saying he’s ‘on board’ and then saying ‘we’re hoping that he will come and work with us’. My guess is that no contract has been written up and so people are treading on egg-shells. Despite not having an official release date set, ANT-MAN could start shooting before THE AVENGERS 2 comes out.
