Jose Padilha’s ROBOCOP reboot began filming today and with it our first look at Joel Kinnaman in the new-look body armour. The controversial script has been mocked by many in Tinseltown with a number of characters sidelined and new key plot developments that even find our hero globe-hopping! The character of the Detroit supercop is said go through a number of metallic upgrades over the course of the film, we’ve no idea which design these first set stills will be but when the film is finished, will it be a million miles away from Rob Bottin’s iconic conception?
ROBOCOP will co-star Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jackie Earl Haley, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Michael Keaton on villain duties. How will it compare to Paul Verhoeven’s violent 1987 classic? We’ll find out when the film hits cinemas 9th August 2013. As always, give us your thoughts on the new suit!

I like it
It’s a bit generic, but it looks alright. If it’s just one version of a number of “suits”, we might well get that clunky old one later on.
