Anticipation is ramping up for the first of three films coming from Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s THE HOBBIT. Fans of Jackson’s epic LORD OF THE RINGS tales finally see how it all began, in the prequel of loveable hero Bilbo Baggins and his battle with the evil creatures of Middle Earth. This coming Friday will bring the all-new trailer for the THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, which is slated for cinemas on the 14th December. In the meantime check out these stunning new stills and character images.
The trilogy (sequels THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG and THE HOBBIT: THERE & BACK AGAIN will be released 13th December 2013 and 18th July 2014 respectively) will star Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Ian Holm, Andy Serkis, James Nesbitt, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans, Orlando Bloom and Hugo Weaving.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
