Get excited and take a look below as we have the first official still from the forthcoming X-MEN spin-off THE WOLVERINE, in which we see the returning Hugh Jackman back as adimantium-clawed hero Logan. Just take another look…go on! It’s amazing as he looks just like…well…THE WOLVERINE! That’s right folks, there is nothing we ain’t seen before in the previous five X-MEN films as Jackman looks his gruff, buff and side-burned self in what is still the actors signature role. Still for us superhero fans it’s Wolverine, so its gonna be special, right? It is a rather suitably epic still.
James Mangold directs the latest comic-book offering which will see everyone’s favourite bad-tempered mutant, ass-kicking and sticking it to the villains of Tokyo, Japan. After Gavin Hood’s shoddy action origin tale, we’re just hoping for a film the fans and the character deserves.
THE WOLVERINE will be unleashed in cinemas 26th July 2013 and will co-star Will Yun Lee, Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
