MEN IN BLACK and GET SHORTY director Barry Sonnenfeld is currently in talks with Warner Bros. to helm the action-fantasy epic LORE, which is based on Ashley Wood’s acclaimed graphic novel. Wood’s original source material tells of an ‘secret order’ that defends the world from the forces of evil and the deadly mythical creatures that come with it. So, kinda like HELLBOY then (and not a million miles away from the blockbusting sci-fi comedy franchise he’s perhaps best known for).
If a deal is agreed then Sonnenfeld, whose last effort was the much improved MEN IN BLACK 3, will direct Dwayne Johnson in the lead. We’ll keep you posted on Sonnenfeld’s confirmation and further casting announcements.
