Character List Reveals New S.H.I.E.L.D. Series Details!

After the huge success of Marvel’s singular movies and the superhero team-up AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, it seems only natural we’d get a (touch) smaller scale television series featuring the agents of Nick Fury’s S.H.I.E.L.D. . The great thing is AVENGERS writer and director Joss Whedon is overseeing the project on the small screen (as well as juggling development of his record-setting Marvel sequel, expected 2015).

We’re now able to bring you the casting list for a number of the those individuals set to feature strongly in this upcoming project, that will air on ABC in the US late next year. It may also be possible these some of these characters could crossover into other Marvel big-screen features and likewise for cameos from those already established Marvel heroes. Although they appear to be an all-new set of characters not familiar in the comics, it’s well known Whedon tries to keep things under wraps and may have disguised a number of names.

SKYE: This late-20s woman sounds like a dream: fun, smart, caring and confident– with an ability to get the upper hand by using her wit and charm.

AGENT GRANT WARD: Quite the physical specimen and “cool under fire,” he sometimes botches interpersonal relations. He’s a quiet one with a bit of a temper, but he’s the kind of guy that grows on you.

AGENT ALTHEA RICE: Also known as “The Calvary,” this hard-core soldier has crazy skills when it comes to weapons and being a pilot. But her experiences have left her very quiet and a little damaged.

AGENT LEO FITZ and AGENT JEMMA SIMMONS: These two came through training together and still choose to spend most of their time in each other’s company. Their sibling-like relationship is reinforced by their shared nerd tendencies – she deals with biology and chemistry, he’s a whiz at the technical side of weaponry

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
