Tim Burton’s animated remake of his own classic short FRANKENWEENIE is just around the corner. You can read THN’s review here. But the marketing campaign is still taking a delightfully unique approach by relishing in its obvious influence of cheesy monster B-movies from the past. Each of the posters represents itself as an individual film based on one of the many pets that is brought back to life. My favourite has to be the GAMERA inspired Day Of The Turtle. I’ve not yet seen the film myself, but it certainly seems as though Burton has had a reignited spark of influence from his old loves and passions. I hope to see some of these spoof posters become actual films in the future.
FRANKENWEENIE is released in the UK 17th October 2012. It stars the vocal talents of Charlie Tahan, Winona Ryder, Christopher Lee, Martin Short, Martin Landau, and Catherine O’Hara.
