The remake of ROBOCOP is at that point now where everybody has pretty much made up their mind. Many hate what they have seen so far, but some of us are willing to give it a chance. I’m certainly not holding my breath for anything more than an enjoyable summer blockbuster, even though I think ROBOCOP should be something more than that. What is keeping my interest is the supporting cast, many of whom can be spotted below. These set pics give us our first look at Michael Keaton and Michael Kenneth Williams.
ROBOCOP is a remake of Paul Verhoeven’s classic about a police officer is is mortally wounded on the job. He is brought back to ‘life’ as a cyborg police officer and must fight the evil that plagues his city. Joel Kinnaman has taken over from Peter Weller as the cop with robot parts, also known as ROBOCOP. The scene below seems as though it may be an emotional reunion between ROBOCOP and his wife and son.
ROBOCOP is to be released 9th August 2013. It stars Joel Kinnaman, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Jay Baruchel.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.

That suit is an abomination. He looks like he’s being humped by a black VW Beetle!

It is very much a catch-22, isn’t it. Doesn’t matter what they do, there’s going to be people complaining and claiming it’s ruining their childhood. It really isn’t.
I think the suit looks okay. Bit bland, but making it matte black makes more sense than polished metal.

I only watched the original maybe 2 years ago for the first time. The suit just doesn’t look right. It will be easier for Kinnaman to emote though, something missing from the original Robocop with his eyes covered.
