Emily Blunt is reportedly in talks to join THE AVENGERS sequel as superhero heroine Ms. Marvel. Also know as Carol Danvers, Ms. Marvel was caught in the explosion of an alien weapon turning her into a Kree-human hybrid. Her powers include super strength, flight, energy projection, and being overly sexualised!
Blunt is said to be battling LUTHER actress Ruth Wilson for the role, but after witnessing her stellar performance in LOOPER she should be able to take down her competition. However, Blunt has previously turned down two previous Marvel roles; Peggy Carter in CAPTAIN AMERICA and Black Widow, in IRON MAN 2. The DEVIL WEARS PRADA star has been reluctant to board projects that require the huge commitment of multi-film contracts, though if she joins THE AVENGERS franchise she’d have to stick around for some time.
THE AVENGERS 2 will be directed by Joss Whedon and is expected to hit cinemas May 2015.
