Record Breaking South Korean Heist Film ‘The Thieves’ Gets A Trailer

Last week we showed you a poster for and reported on the record breaking film THE THIEVES. A South Korean action film that focuses on a gang of 10 thieves out to steal a diamond. THE THIEVES is the highest grossing South Korean film in the country’s history, beating previous record holder THE HOST (2006). No doubt there will be a lot of comparisons made between this and the OCEAN’S 11 (2001) films directed by Steven Soderbergh. However, this seems to have a lot more double crossing within the group and the tagline “Every thief for himself,” suggests we will see backstabbing aplenty.

THE THIEVES is released in the US 12th October 2012. It stars Kim Yun Seok, Kim Hye Su, Lee Jung Jae, Gianna Jun, and Simon Yam.
