Stallone & DeNiro Line Up ‘Grudge Match’

Two Oscar-winning legends are about to step back into the ring together in geriatric boxing comedy GRUDGE MATCH. Rocky Balboa will take on Jake LaMotta, or rather Sylvester Stallone and Robert DeNiro will reunite for the first time since 1997’s COPLAND (still Stallone’s finest ever performance in my opinion), for this comedic sporting effort. The two will appear as over-the-hill former boxers Billy ‘The Kid’ McGuigan and Henry ‘Razor’ Sharp who are coaxed out of retirement to settle a 50-year-long vendetta.

ENTOURAGE creator Doug Ellin is the man behind the script with ANGER MANAGEMENT and GET SMART director Peter Segal set to helm. Actor, writer and comedian Kevin Hart has also joined the cast as the outspoken fight promoter who brings the duo together one last time.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
