With Destination Star Trek London fast approaching, organisers are appealing for help from fans to be a part of and witness STAR TREK history by breaking the Guinness Book of World Records on Saturday, October 20th at London’s ExCeL Centre. Fans across the country will have the chance to join together to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of STAR TREK characters, in celebration of the first convention to come to the UK in over a decade.
‘Destination Star Trek London’ is inviting all aficionados of the show to join in and register at the Main Stage at 6:00pm on Saturday, October 20, 2012 before the show’s closing at 7:00pm and all participants who take part in the attempt will be awarded with prizes and goodies.
The current record is held by the Las Vegas Star Trek Convention. In June last year, 1,040 fans descended on Vegas and celebrated the popular show with guest speakers, photo shoots and stunt demonstrations. British fans have just over two weeks to source their outfits. With such a wealth of characters to choose from they need not be worried about costume ideas. The most popular costume is the iconic Star Trek uniforms with the instantly recognisable Starfleet insignia.
Visitors of the event who come in dressed as their favourite Star Trek characters will also be able to take part in our daily Costume Parades. Entrants will be judged in a variety of categories by our V.I.P judging panel for a chance to win prizes.
