Richard Curtis is to blame for the excessive amount of British romantic comedies we faced in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Sure he gave us some greats such as NOTTING HILL (1999) and LOVE ACTUALLY (2003), but we also had to sit through some tripe wannabes too. Nearly a decade on from that dark time and it’s become apparent that we all REALLY miss such love fueled follies, so let’s stand to attention for the return of Mr Curtis.
His latest film deals with Rachel McAdams and time travel. Hold on…have I travelled to the future and seen this film before? I’m sure I have. It was called THE TIME TRAVELLER’S WIFE (2009). Well I guess Rachel McAdams is worth travelling through time and space for. This time it’s the turn of Donald Gleeson to try and woo Miss Adams, as a guy named Tim, get it? Tim-e, how droll. Tim discovers he can time travel and finding that he can’t change history decides he will find a girlfriend instead.
ABOUT TIME is scheduled for a 22nd March release in the UK. It stars Rachel McAdams, Donald Gleeson, and Bill Nighy.
