If you were lucky enough to attend the tremendous Pop-Up Screens over the summer, in various London locations, then we’re very excited – and impressed – by their upcoming plans for two Halloween specials. What better than an old Victorian Stable block to set up and show NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET on the 30th October followed by THE EXORCIST on the scariest night of the year, October 31st.
Pop Up Screens will be popping up at Morden Hall Park for both NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and THE EXORCIST on consecutive nights. The creaking doors will open at 7.30pm so you can join them for a pre-scare drink or two and the film will start at 8.30pm. Pop Up Screens will be providing chairs for everyone so all you need to do is bring a jumper and a strong tin of bravery. David Leydon, founder of Pop Up Screens, had this to say:
“Once the summer finally arrived we had a great time bouncing around London and some really good feedback from just about everyone who came to one of our screenings, so we couldn’t resist setting up one last outdoor adventure when Morden Hall Park asked us if we fancied it. Personally I’m terrified of horror movies so you’ll find me tucked away at the back bar for Nightmare on Elm Street and The Exorcist, but I’m sure everyone else is braver than I am!”
There will of course be popcorn, supplied by London Kettle Popcorn, and a fully stocked bar serving beer, wine in a variety of colours and hot chocolate you can pimp up to your heart’s content. Tickets can be purchased in advance for either film at www.popupscreens.co.uk for £10. For that £10 you get to watch a scary movie in a Victorian stable block and a director’s chair of your own, go on…be brave and book now!
