We recently posted news that Golden Globe-nominee Shailene Woodley was one of a number of actresses reading for the role of Mary-Jane Watson in Marc Webb’s sequel to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. It appears THE DESCENDANTS actress has impressed enough people involved as word is the part is hers. However, it’s expected that the role is only a small one in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, but will prove integral in continuing the adventures of Peter Parker as he ascends from high-school nerd to web-spinning saviour.
Andrew Garfield will be back in the iconic red and blue spandex and Emma Stone’s doomed love interest is also expected to return, with the latest plot set to mirror the events in comic-book arc ‘The Death Of Gwen Stacey’. Rumours surrounding the villain include the introduction of Max Dillon/Electro as well as a new interpretation of Harry Osborne. The shadow of Oscorp throughout the first will no doubt lead to the arrival of major bad-ass Norman Osborne (aka The Green Goblin) in the three-quel (minus the lame Power Rangers costume of Sam Raimi’s original, hopefully).
