Brown, James Brown! License To Feelgood!

Director of THE HELP, Tate Taylor, is looking to adapt a biopic of James Brown’s life for producer Brian Grazer. Apparently people like biopics telling the stories of popular singers, and who doesn’t love a bit of The Godfather Of Soul? In fact, if that’s not the title, and the poster doesn’t spoof that of THE GODFATHER, then I’ll eat my beans. Producing alongside Brian Grazer will be the non-moss gathering Mick Jagger.

The film, written by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, will focus on the early life of James Brown and how he avoided a life of crime to become a singing legend. However, I do hope they include the part where he drove around with a shotgun yelling about someone on his toilet.

But who will be cast as James Brown? Perhaps Tyler Perry? Anyone? No?

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
