Arnie’s been back three times this week, at his age! With rumours of a CONAN reboot for him circulating, plus his self-tweeted hardcore-looking shot in David Ayer’s TEN, Lionsgate have jumped on the Arnold bandwagon and given us a little peek at him as Sheriff Ray Owen’s in Jee-woon Kim’s THE LAST STAND.
It’s the classic set-up for THE LAST STAND, where Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Sheriff Owen’s has put his feet up a little, in small border town Sommerton Junction after leaving the LAPD. However, his reasons for leaving followed a messed-up operation that have shot his nerves and left his partner crippled. When the leader of a drug cartel busts out of a courthouse and speeds to the Mexican border, the only thing in his path is a Arnie’s Sheriff, and his inexperienced staff, can he save the day? Sounds like a perfect chance for redemption to me!

THE LAST STAND also stars Zach Gilford, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzman, Rodrigo Santoro, Johnny Knoxville, Jaimie Alexander, Eduardo Noriega, Peter Stormare, Harry Dean Stanton and Genesis Rodriguez. It opens in the UK on 25th January.
