V/H/S is a film that split its audience. Personally, I absolutely loved it and it scared me more than most recent horror films. It didn’t hurt that I love horror anthologies and found footage films. So I’m a very happy bunny with the announcement that a sequel is already underway. Even more exciting is that some pretty big named directors are joining the series to add their own spin on proceedings. These include Eduardo Sanchez, who directed possibly the most influential found footage horror, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, and Gareth Evans, the man behind this year’s action spectacular, THE RAID. Director of HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN, Jason Eisener, is also signed on for a segment.
Evans and Sanchez will each co-direct their segments with Timo Tjahjanto and Gregg Hale respectively. Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett will return for V/H/S/2, with Barrett getting his chance to direct. As the film is moving as such a pace, I think it is safe to assume this is aiming for a Halloween 2013 release date.
