Christopher Plummer & Shirley MacLaine For ‘Elsa & Fred’ Remake

I often dream of the wonders of retirement. How much time I’ll have to pursue my interests such as sleeping in, watching ADVENTURE TIME, and playing Pokemon. However, for some people, retirement is a non-existent word, something that when spoken out loud just doesn’t translate. Two of those people include Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer, Oscar winning actors that, at the ages of 78 and 83, are as busy as ever. They are now both signed on for a remake of the Argentinian film ELSA & FRED (2005). It sees the outgoing Elsa trying to connect with the reclusive widower, Fred.

Without trying to sound too offensive, it’s great to see some older talent getting headline work in feature films. The film is to be directed by Michael Radford from a script by Anna Pavignano. Plummer and MacLaine are two very talented stars and always have been, so I can’t wait to see a genuinely sweet romance blossom between them. Hear that Hollywood? Give us more oldies.
