Did Aronofsky’s Ark Survive Superstorm Sandy?

Nothing (in recent years) will be as epic as Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming project NOAH, but it is currently unclear whether Superstorm Sandy has ruined the production’s planned exterior shoot.

The ‘boat’ structure (it’s around 75 feet tall and 450 feet long) is located in Oyster Bay (an inlet of Long Island), which was directly in the path of the storm. The exterior shoot was scheduled to be finished by 9th November, but a source close to the film has said that the area was so affected by Sandy’s power that they can’t get close enough to the set to find out what’s happened to it.

However, a studio source has said that they are fully insured: ‘We have a long postproduction schedule, so this has no long-term impact on release of the film’. Good news for Aronofsky fans!

(As far as we know) NOAH is set for release from March 2014.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
