Hopkins Sticks It To Scarlett Johansson In First Clip From ‘Hitchcock’!

The trailers and posters we’ve seen so far from Sacha Gervasi’s ‘making of PSYCHO’ biopic HITCHCOCK have been rather playful and fun, with Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren as the iconic director and put-upon-wife Alma. Unlike HBO’s recently-broadcast TV movie on Hitchcock THE GIRL (starring Toby Jones and Sienna Miller), focusing on his controversial relationship with actress Tippi Hedren, HITCHCOCK looks at the lighter side of the filmmaker and his struggles in realising his seminal slasher on the big screen.

In this first clip from the film, we see Hopkins as the legend, directing and getting ‘stuck into’ actress Janet Leigh, played here by Scarlett Johansson.

Who can blame him eh?

HITCHCOCK will hit US cinemas for a limited run on the 23rd November but won’t arrive in the UK until the 8th February 2013. Toni Collete, Ralph Macchio, James D’Arcy, Jessica Biel, Danny Huston and Michael Wincott co-star.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
