There is one universal truth, and that is the fact that everyone loves GROUNDHOG DAY. It’s just amazing! The premise of repeating time, the premise of repeating time was also used in Doug Jones’ SOURCE CODE. Now it’s the turn of Tom Cruise in Doug Liman’s Manga adaptation ALL YOU NEED IS KILL, and we have the first image of Cruise kitted out in a robotic suit running from a huge explosion. That’s a great sentence to say aloud. ALL YOU NEED IS KILL has Cruise playing Lt. Col. Bill Cage, a man who is forced to relive the day of his death over and over again, until he can complete his mission to take down an alien-hive.
This image alone looks stunning, and I would say this is set to be one of the best blockbusters in years. Why? Well, Liman has given us a range of great films from different genres, repeating stuff is usually surprisingly fresh, and Bill Paxton co-stars. That’s why!
ALL YOU NEED IS KILL will be released in 2013. It stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, and Charlotte Riley.
